Epson offers both rolls and sheets of different varieties of proofing paper: Proofing Paper Commercial, Proofing Paper Publication, Proofing Paper White Semimatte, Standard Proofing Paper, Standard Proofing Paper (240), and DuPont (tm) Epson Commercial Glossy Proofing Paper.
Proofing Paper Commercial
This proofing paper has been designed with a commercial grade base color and the semimatte surface finish is suited for simulating the commercial printing applications for products such as brochures, book covers and posters. Coated to exacting standards, this paper displays outstanding short term stability when used in conjunction with Epson professional inks. At 7.1mil this is a medium weight media. As it has a wide color gamut, this makes this paper the perfect choice for commercial proofing applications.
Proofing Paper Publication
This 8 mil paper has a matte finish and does not have optical brighteners which makes it suitable for proofing images that are to be included in newspapers and magazines.
Proofing Paper White Semimatte
Proofing Paper White Semimatte is 10 mil and has a bright white base and is engineered to give the highest resolution and color saturation with Epson's UltraChrome K3 ink.
Standard Proofing Paper and Standard Proofing Paper (240)
These proofing papers are the most popular and are designed to meet the standards established by the GRACol (r) Committee (an industry standard), are semimatte, and have 7 and 9 mil thickness respectively.
DuPont (tm) Epson Commercial Glossy Proofing Paper
This proofing paper is aimed at graphic designers, ad agencies, and commercial photographers for presenting color accurate first drafts or prepress images to clients or for creating professional marketing materials. It is only available in 100 sheet reams.
Most of the proofing paper that Epson offers is available in rolls of 100 feet in widths of 13", 17", 24", 36", and 44". The Proofing Paper White Semimatte is additionally available in a 60" width. The Standard Proofing Paper (240) and DuPont (tm) Epson Commercial Glossy Proofing Paper are available in 100 sheet reams.
Epson's UltraChrome ink is Epson's improved ink formula developed for the latest generation of inkjet professional printers. Each ink particle has a smooth and uniform resin coating which ensures sharp image reproduction on both plain and specialty paper and offers improvements in light and water resistance.
