Kodak Proofing Paper
Kodak has two lines of Proofing Paper, the premium line Kodak Matchprint Pro and the more economical line of Kodak Matchprint. The Pro line is engineered for pigment inks from the Epson UltraChrome and HP Vivera inks, whereas the other is also suitable for dye inks. Both of these lines meet international color standards such as FOGRA, SWOP, and GRACol.
Kodak Matchprint Pro Coated SM240P, Media Type 1 is the premium semi-matte proofing base that meets GRACol and FOGRA standards without the need for a background tint. This paper also features high brightness and a cool tint to provide a match to high quality commercial printing stock. This semi-matte paper is available in 13' x 19" sheets and 100 foot rolls in 17", 24", and 42" widths.
Kodak Matchprint Pro Coated SM240P, Media Type 3 is also a semi-matte proofing paper but this one differs from Media Type 1 in that it has a lower level of brightness and a neutral tint which makes it comparable to mid-range printing stock. This paper is available only in 100 foot rolls in 14", 17", 24", and 42" widths.
Kodak Matchprint Pro Coated SM240P, Media Type 5 is the newest proofing paper to the Kodak family. Media Type 5 has an even lower level of brightness and a warmer tint to the paper to match common publication printing stock. Again, this is only available in 100 foot rolls in 14", 17", 24", and 42" widths.
Kodak Matchprint Pro Press White SM210P Media is a semi-matte proofing paper with a bright white appearance under a range of lighting conditions which means that it will show shadow detail and a wide color gamut. Press White is available in 100 foot rolls in 17", 24", and 42" widths.
In the economical range Kodak Matchprint M150DP Media is a matte-coated paper for single sided imposition and content proofing. It comes in 100 foot rolls in widths of 24", 36", 42", and 50".
Kodak Matchprint M120DP Media is matte paper for single-sided imposition and content proofing. The rolls for this paper are 100 foot and 24" wide and 150 foot for the 36" and 42" widths.
Kodak Matchprint M96DP Media is for single-sided imposition proofing. The paper is matte with a high level of brightness. This paper comes in 130 foot rolls in 17", 24", and 42" widths.
Kodak Matchprint 2 sided M100DP Media is a double sided matte paper designed for imposition proofing. The base paper and matte surface are formulated to reduce bleed-through, improve the image quality, and have quick drying times. This paper is only available in 22" x 30" and 32" x 42" sheets.
Kodak Matchprint Clear Media, 4mil, is a transparent film for overlays of individual color separations or for multi-layer constructions to show composite color build up from component colors. It should be noted that this film is truly transparent versus competing products that sacrifice clarity for speedier drying times. Extra drying time should be incorporated into the printing procedure to accommodate this. Clear Media is available in 75 foot rolls in 17", 24", and 42" widths.
The Kodak Matchprint Inkjet System provides media configurations for each combination of proofer, resolution, media, ink and spectrophotometer that Kodak supports including the Epson Stylus Pro and HP Designjet printers. The System helps ensure consistent proofing and containment of costs.
